I can't recommend enough experiencing museum visits and artist audio tours when traveling. Such travels are really my best source of study and inspire me and my role in the arts. Thank heavens for my partner Barnet Cohn and his part-time retirement job with the airlines, which allows my travels to chase museum shows. During such visits, I am always reminded of the truthful words of art critic Sister Wendy Beckett when she speaks of art as a great means: "[Art] is going to deepen our awareness of the things that matter. It’s going to make us — to refer to what we said earlier—more a person of integrity, more true to my own essence, than I would have been without this encounter. It’s like meeting a great genius, just talking, even being in the presence of such a person. You feel enriched, enlightened; you’re more than you were before you had that encounter. Well, that’s what paintings are offering us: encounters; encounters with greatness."
