1. Jesse's Root
700 years before Christ’s birth, it is prophesied that a Savior would be born from “the root of Jesse.”

Around the same time, it is also prophesied that this Savior would be born in Bethlehem—a small town known as “little among the thousands.”

3. The Incarnation
As foretold by the angel Gabriel, Mary conceives the Savior by the Holy Spirit and names Him “Jesus,” which means “God saves.”
