MONMOUTH UNIVERSITY GUEST SPEAKER & PANEL DISCUSSION ENGAGEMENT

In April 2018, James was selected as a featured speaker at Monmouth University’s Career Day for the Fine Art and Design Department. James enlightened students and alumni in the audience through presenting his unique, decades-long journey as an evolving artist, gallery owner, and interior designer. He also shared how his dedicated travel to the world’s top museums greatly inspired and influenced his interior design work. James reminded young artists to create a beautiful life while imagining and pursuing a career in the arts: “Art has permeated all parts of my life, grounding me and reassuring my doubts that beauty still exists in the world. My hope is that you can all allow art to guide your careers and that you always let who you are and what brought you here lead you.”

ABOUT THE ART:

Part of the appreciation of fine art often extends beyond the physical beauty of a painting. WITH AN ARTIST'S EYE: JAMES YAROSH FINE ART & INTERIOR DESIGN SERVICES

For those of us with the collecting bug, it is our gift to discover and see the beauty and value in much of life's art. Attention to display of our treasured collections with framing and home decoration is sometimes overlooked by purists in art collecting. It's a given that a painting, or any art, should always be purchased out of love and displaying it in a serene surrounding where it can shine and sing to our hearts can only enhance the experience. For this reason, James Yarosh Associates became also known as Fine Art & Design helping collectors create environments that celebrate and tribute art in our homes. Further services include fine art to the trade, the curation and hanging of art collections, the creation of truly custom frames and full interior design specification including new construction and renovation projects.

TO THE TRADE: FINE ART SERVICES TO THE INTERIOR DESIGN TRADE:

As part of our work with the interior design community, James Yarosh Associates Gallery is proud to furnish an assortment of art collections from traditional to the very modern. Whether being brought in on client projects to provide art for key areas or appointing an entire home, Yarosh's understanding of interior design as a published designer allows his trained eye to quickly understand a designer's goals to harmonize ideas. By incorporating fine art pieces into the conversation of a project, a heightened level of sophistication is achieved by marrying fine art and design with results that extend beyond simply decorating. "Part of the excitement of such collaborations is seeing how each designer curates the gallery's collections for such diverse interior design styling, all offering ideas of living with art." says James Yarosh.

Charlie Robinson, "Windows at Garmany," Holiday/Winter, 2014

In the Winter 2014 "Windows at Garmany" exhibit, artist and illustrator Charlie Robinson takes us on a complex visual journey inside the human mind. This collection of seven mixed-media art posters will be featured as this year's seasonal display, which is part of our ongoing public art series of one-person shows and exhibits at Garmany, a 40,000-square-foot luxury retail clothier located at 121 Broad Street in Red Bank, New Jersey. Robinson's images are excerpts from a collaborative comic project with writing partner Ken Santos titled "Don't you understand? The reset codes have changed." On the sheets, seemingly despondent images jump and visually dazzle, transporting us to a different time, space, world. Robinson's exquisite attention to details rendered as complicated chatter on the page gives an empathetic nod to an obvious missing piece in the comic's puzzle. But as you examine the works for meaning, a clue starts to emerge within the dreamlike images. Your confusion lifts and you realize that it is you, the reader, who is the main character. You are the one lost in the artist's rollercoaster of a narrative illustrating the fine lines that separate us from those who are lost and homeless on the streets. And as readers, we snap with the weight of it all. The comic medium transcends to high art in Robinson's sensitive hands and connects us at a primal level as we recapture our youthful imaginations and discover thoughts of potentially unspoken human stories.

In fall, 2012, the gallery moves to its new home at the former site of the 1917 firehouse loft on Main Street, next to the old white church in Historic Holmdel Village. QUOTE– “Art Is a Great Means”

“[Art] is going to deepen our awareness of the things that matter. It’s going to make us— to refer to what we said earlier—more a person of integrity, more true to my own essence, then I would have been without this encounter.  It’s like meeting a great genius, just talking, even being in the presence of such a person.  You feel enriched, enlightened; you’re more than you were before you had that encounter.  Well, that’s what paintings are offering us: encounters; encounters with greatness.”

BAYONET FARM ART & MUSIC FESTIVAL –
SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 20,  2008

Gallery owner James Yarosh will serve as the awards judge for this year’s plein air competition and juried art show on September 20th at Bayonet Farm. The show will be a part of the annual Arts & Music Festival from noon to 5 PM that day.

The land was first claimed in land titles dating from 1677. It was a working farm through the 19th and early 20th centuries. On returning from Hollywood in 1936, Philadelphia-born American Express heiress, Laura Harding, bought the central 60-acre parcel. During a renovation Ms. Harding discovered a small bayonet stuck in the chimney of the main house, and named the property for the weapon.

Ms. Harding had acted with Katherine Hepburn at the Berkshire Playhouse. After that the two remained lifelong friends, and in later years Hepburn and Spencer Tracy were frequent guests at Bayonet Farm.

Spotlight Artist - Joyce Anastasia Urbanski

Joyce Anastasia Urbanski has been a painting for over 40 years with over 15 one person gallery exhibits to her credit.  One of James Yarosh Associates Gallery’s most popular artists since 1996, Urbanski's  painterly and plein-air oil paintings are both bold and colorfully complicated.  Highlighted here, and offered for the first time for individual sale, are a still life series entitled ‘Saturation’.   The collection of eight monochromatic still life portraits represent a thoroughly modern series of work that also includes supporting studies.

Marissa Paternoster - Works on Paper

Prepare to be thrust into a world of pain.  The subtle, casual works of Marissa Paternoster manage to harbor every insecurity the prototypical young American has to offer.  Her work deals with archetypical memories, confessionals, the mysteries of parents, and the faults of families.  Unnerving as the material may be, they are audacious testaments to honesty, truth, and transparency.  While the work is loaded, the jokingly informal production of pieces may assist the viewer in alleviating the so-called “world of pain” Marissa seeks to construct.  So, prepare to suffer – and get ready to enjoy it.   Shown right: " Smart- Funny- Talented"

Vachagan Narazyan

Epic and intimate paintings are arguably amongst the most important works to surface and still develop from the repression of the former Soviet Union. With a style blending old-world images with futuristic visions, the artist creates a world of mystery and enchantment for the viewer to explore. Narazyan, born 1957 in Kislovodsk, Russia and currently residing in the Ukraine, graduated Kharkiv Art Institute and developed a style underground, now coined romantic fantasy, as part of the historical Non-conformist Art Movement. Today, the artist's work is represented in museum and private collections around the world including the Zimmerli Art Museum's Dodge Collection. Our Gallery is proud to offer the paintings of Narazyan's artistic genius.
