Fall 2011- James Yarosh Associates Fine Art Gallery presents Windows at Garmany:
Jill Kerwick- Favorites |
"Family" evolving from the word "Gathering".
  
Jill Kerwick's exhibits include the recent juried shows at Umbrella Arts in the Lower East Side, NYC, at the Watchung Arts Center and a solo exhibit at the Visual Arts Center in Summit, NJ.
"My Favorite Gown" evolved from the love of fabrics and the memories of favorite items of clothing.
Recently Jill Kerwick was commissioned to make a painting for the Brooklyn based band "Everest Cale". She also exhibited 4 paintings in Blank Studios Gallery, Portslade, England.
This Fall she is in an exhibition entitled, "Inside Joke" , at the Augusta Savage Gallery, UMass Amherst.
Kerwick received her MA from NYU in 1995 and her BFA from Moore College of Art in 1978. The artist also lives in Costa Rica for 4 months of the year where she says time and colors are different than in NJ.
When asked for an artist statement or statment of interests, the artist responded: "Jill loves looking at art, boogie boarding and cookies." Having been a friend and admirer of her art for over twenty years.....the humor and charm was not lost on me.
