With each component marching in order as if animated gemstones on parade, Quisgard’s artworks are as vibrant and engaging as a silk tie, yet as complex as any intricately woven pattern. This spring the fine art of Ms. Quisgard finds itself a backdrop to Garmany’s finest selection of men and women’s clothing.
“The art is beautiful,” wrote Vivian Raynor in a 1990 New York Times review of a Quisgard exhibit. Ms Quisgard’s work has previously adorned the windows of Tiffany, New York City in 1984 and Bergdorf Goodman in 1991. Born in 1929, Quisgard has been the focus of more than 45 solo exhibitions since 1960 and received the coveted Pollack-Krasner Foundation Grant in 2001.
